The county lies in the South West of England covering 858,931 acres. There are 20 towns in Wiltshire and one city Salisbury, Trowbridge being the county town. In the 2001 cencus the county had a population of 613,024.

Richard Wolters recounts the story a few St. John's water dogs that were crossed into the strains that became the modern Labrador retriever in his The Labrador Retriever: The History...the People...Revisited (1981). I have some issues with Wolters's historical scholarship and analysis, but the stories in the book are worth reading. more

While she was on the floor her horse toppled on top of her leaving her with serious injuries.
